Spring is upon us!
Ebbs and flow of life before you know it 3 months have passed! A lot has happened since the last episode.
In the department we briefly got fully staffed and started to settle into a routine, when life happens. We have two full-time members that have amazing opportunities upon them for the benefit of their families and their future, we wish them the best in their endeavors. That brings us back to the board looking for folks to fill their shoes. The changes of the new are starting to develop a steady rhythm with the occasional blip!
We have several that are rocking along in fire school and paramedic school buttoning up where they need to be to maintain minimum certifications for our future. The PVFD Junior Rescue Rangers knocked their first annual fire station easter egg hunt out of the park. The attendance was amazing; we look forward to what they are going to do next.
Our organization has two members nominated for of the Year awards with the North Texas Firefighters Fire Marshal’s Association! If they win there, they go on to compete at the state level. These members are our Firefighter of the Year Blaine Burr and for EMS of the Year - Gabriel Ambrose was nominated. We are excited that we have members that perform at high levels and recognize their efforts!
I personally have been busy, I am still rocking along in pursuit of a Master’s degree in Fire Executive Leadership, I completed the second round of the National Fire Academy’s prestigious Executive Fire Officer program, and continue to work within the state fire service to create a stronger fire service for our futures. I am spending considerable time meeting folks, hearing their issues, deciphering and remembering ideas for positive change in our futures!
Enough for now, off to another meeting!
